Gluten Free Deep Dish Pizza

What's on the menu for dinner tonight? Grab your cast iron pan and get ready to make the best deep dish pizza!

Our gluten free bread mix is the base of this pizza crust. Add in a few other basic ingredients and you're set. The best part is this dough is really easy to work with, easy to roll out, and the easiest part is eating it! Make it into your favorite style pizza crust and it becomes the best blank slate for your pizza creations to run wild!

Tips for baking a crust using a cast iron pan

Recipe below is for a 10 inch cast iron pan. I recommend using this size pan or bigger. When rolling out the dough, if you want a bit of a crust, make your circle a little larger than your pan size. Last but not least, make sure you put your sauce on last... I know I know its backwards, but necessary for the deep dish style!

Author: Parker House Products            Total Time: 1 hour        Yield: 1 deep dish pizza

Ingredients:

  • Parker House Gluten Free Bread Mix
  • 1 Tbsp yeast (included in package) (10g)
  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees)
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter (28g)
  • extra gluten free flour for dusting/rolling
  • Pizza toppings/sauce of choice

Instructions for a Deep Dish Pizza:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and then TURN IT OFF.
  1. In a stand mixer, using the paddle attachment, add all your ingredients to the bowl and slowly mix. Scrape down the sides and then turn up the mixer to a medium speed for 2 minutes.
  2. Lightly dust a piece of parchment paper or flat surface with some Parker House Gluten Free Flour.
  3. Place ball of dough on floured surface and make sure all sides of the dough ball are lightly coated with flour. Roll out dough with a rolling pin until dough will fit your cast iron pan.
  4. Oil your cast iron pan and using fingers carefully press dough into your cast iron pan. Push the dough up the sides if you want more of a "crust". Sprinkle with some garlic salt if you want a little extra flavor to the crust.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in the warm oven for 20-30 minutes
  6. Remove pizza from the oven and preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  7. Add cheese first, then any desired toppings, and then your sauce. Sprinkle a little extra cheese on top
  8. Place in the oven and bake for for 30 minutes
  9. Enjoy!!
